Baby’s first nap will be a snap as you cuddle in the new comfortable glider/rocker in the Mother/Baby rooms at Baptist Hospital East.

Personal-size refrigerators add another touch of convenience to the 40 all private rooms, redecorated in restful shades. A soft sofa bed or sleep chair provides a nap spot for dad or another family member.

Additional shelves, and a pair of nightstands provide storage for personal items and gifts. A wall-mounted flat-screen television in each room completes the picture.

Another new addition to the Mother/Baby unit is the Baby Blessings Wall, which commemorates the birth of babies born at Baptist East. A 5x5-inch tile inscribed with the baby’s footprint, name and date of birth may be purchased by families and displayed on the wall across from the Nursery.

While increasing creature comforts, the hospital has also worked to ensure greater peace of mind for new parents with an upgrade to the infant security system.
