The Baptist Eastpoint project will add an Ambulatory Surgery Center with four surgery suites and four endoscopy rooms; an Ambulatory Care Center with a 10-room Urgent Care Center, Diagnostic Imaging Center with MRI and CT scans; a physical therapy center; a diagnostic cardiology center, a Women’s Center with digital mammography, bone density scanning, and stereotactic breast biopsy; a laboratory; a retail area; and a 100,000-square-foot medical office building.

This project is under construction on the Eastpoint campus at 2400 Eastpoint Parkway in eastern Jefferson County and is expected to serve northeastern Jefferson County, southwestern Oldham County and western Shelby County.

The Ambulatory Surgery Center is the anchor of the project. It will be a joint venture with surgeons from several different specialties, including general surgery, orthopedics, gynecological surgery and otolaryngology (ENT).

The Ambulatory Care Center will also allow more outpatients to be treated off the Baptist East campus. The area the Eastpoint campus will serve is the fastest growing in the market, making the onsite Medical Office Building convenient for patients living near Eastpoint. 

The medical office building will have four floors of 25,000 square feet. Baptist East will offer lease, condo and timeshare options for physicians.

The total project will cost around $63 million  and is scheduled to open in November 2008. The joint venture will purchase the equipment and lease the space from Baptist East.
