In a typical day at Baptist East's Rehabilitation Program, patients can expect to be scheduled for two to three structured therapy sessions each morning and afternoon, for a total of at least three hours per day. Sessions may include improving techniques for:
- Personal bathing, dressing, toileting and other activities of daily living;
- Walking or wheelchair use, including increased endurance, getting in and out of bed or a chair, and improved mobility;
- Personal needs, such as medication management, bowel and bladder training, diabetic care, special skin needs and nutritional concerns;
- And, if needed, communication, swallowing and challenges with memory and/or problem solving.
