The Baptist Hospital East Brain Injury Support Group focuses on helping persons with brain injuries, their families and caregivers cope with the emotions, behaviors and other changes associated with brain injuries. By talking with individuals who are having similar experiences, families can receive the guidance they need to care for their loved one. Persons who have a brain injury can learn ways to deal with their anger, loss of self or memory loss.
Healthcare professionals from the Rehabilitation Program at Baptist East coordinate the meetings. Psychologists from the program lead the group sessions.
The Brain Injury Support Group meets on the third Wednesday of every month (except June, July and August) from 7-8:30 p.m. in the hospital's second-floor Education Center.
The Brain Injury Support Group is provided free of charge by the Rehabilitation Program at Baptist East. It is recognized by the Brain Injury Association of Kentucky. Attendance is open to anyone who has a brain injury and their family members and friends.
The program is free. For more information or to receive meeting notices, call the Baptist East Rehabilitation Program at (502) 896-7441.
