Emergency Department (ED). With 28 beds in the main ED, nine beds in the Fast Track ED/Pediatric ED and five beds in the Chest Pain Observation Unit, this fast-paced ED treats an average of 150 patients a day. Types of cases include acute cardiovascular and neurovascular emergencies, general medical emergencies, traumatic injuries and psychiatric patients. Ages of those treated range from neonates to geriatrics. An extensive orientation program allows the emergency nurse to work autonomously with a wide range of clinical specialties in treating emergency patients and families. The ED fosters high levels of teamwork and collaboration with a multi-disciplinary group of professionals. New graduates with appropriate training and background are welcomed.
