Pay scales and benefit package offerings are reviewed regularly to maintain competitive pay programs. Benefits are available for both full-time and part-time employees.

Salaries. Salaries are based on experience. Shift differential pay is available for weekend, evening and night work. On-call pay for those required to be on call. Pay increases based on merit. Attendance bonus for perfect attendance.

Day care center. On-site day care center for the children of hospital employees, open 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Dental insurance. Optional group plans for both routine and more comprehensive dental coverage.

Educational programs. Continuing education programs offered for all disciplines, plus in-service and OSHA/safety training.

Employee Assistance Program. Free confidential short-term counseling for employees and immediate family members.

Health insurance. A choice of plans is available for full- and part-time employees.

Flexible spending accounts. Maximum $5,000 for healthcare or childcare.

Long-Term Disability. Provided for regular full- and part-time employees hired into a position which is 60 hours or more every two weeks.

Short-Term Disability. Available for purchase for regular full- and part-time employees who are hired into a position which is 60 hours or more every two weeks.

Long-Term Care. Available for purchase for regular full- and part-time employees who are hired into a position which is 35 hours or more every two weeks.

Home and auto insurance. Discounted rates offered to Baptist Healthcare System employees; can be paid by payroll deduction.

Lifestyle assistance. On-site dry-cleaning drop-off, plus employee discounts with local merchants and entertainment opportunities. On-site bank and ATM machine.

Educational assistance. The Baptist Hospital East Knowledge Program helps pay for nursing and allied health education. 

MBA program. Get your MBA degree in either 18 months or five years through a special program offered by Baptist East and Bellarmine University.

Parking. Free parking in secure, attached garage.

Paid Time Off. Nineteen days each year, based on hours worked and length of employment. Pro-rated for part-time employees. After completing five and one-quarter years, a maximum of 24 days per year can be earned. After 11 years, an additional day is added for each year, up to a maximum of 29 days per year.

Retirement Accumulation Plan. Paid for by the hospital for full- and part-time employees.

Savings Thrift Plan. Optional tax-deferred employee savings with hospital match.

Sick days. Ten days off accrued at the end of first year. Pro-rated for part-time employees.

Tuition reimbursement. After six months of employment, tuition assistance up to $2,500 a year for full-time employees; pro-rated for part-time employees.

Working for a Home. Assistance with down payment and/or closing costs for a limited number of qualified employees. Also, a free eight-week class series to learn about buying a home. Also, employees may quality for up to a $2,000 down payment.

Baptist East/Milestone Wellness Center. Enrollment fee waived; discounted monthly rates with payroll deduction available. Discount also offered on HMR Healthy Solutions weight-management program.

An added -- and invaluable -- benefit is the opportunity to work with employees who care for each other in many ways.
